Microneedling in Houston and The Woodlands

The microneedling treatment is used to improve the overall appearance of the skin. This procedure can address skin tone and texture. It most commonly treats wrinkles, scars, pores and hyperpigmentation. The microneedling process stimulates collagen and elastin production, also referred to as collagen induction therapy, to rejuvenate the face and reveal a youthful glow. This procedure is typically used on the face, but can be used on other areas of the body.

Who is a Candidate?

Candidates for this procedure would like to address skin concerns without the use of injectables or invasive cosmetic surgery. Microneedling is for patients who would like to refresh their look with the use of a light treatment. Most patients are candidates for this procedure because it is a highly noninvasive and simple treatment. Microneedling is also a safe treatment for darker skin tones with no risk of hyperpigmentation unlike laser treatments.

Candidacy for this treatment will also be determined by Dr. Linville. During a comprehensive consultation, he will sit with the patient to examine their skin and discuss their aesthetic goals. When the appointment is finished, he will then create a specialized microneedling treatment plan for the patient based on his expertise and their goals. The treatment sessions will vary based the patient. Dr. Linville will schedule all treatment dates and educate the patient on the entire process during the first consultation.

The Process

Before the procedure, Dr. Linville will numb the area with a light topical cream. Dr. Linville will use a state-of-the-art micro-needling device to create small wounds in the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin production through the body’s natural healing process. The device will be strategically placed around the areas of concern. Treatment sessions depend on the problem areas being addressed.

After the procedure, patients may experience slight tingling, redness and swelling. Patients may return to work within 24 hours of the treatment. Results will be shown gradually and depend upon the patient’s own healing process. Throughout the whole treatment process, Dr. Linville will monitor the patient’s progress to ensure a seamless healing process.
